WILLIAMSPORT, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team suffered a 90-83 setback on the road to Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Sunday afternoon at Bardo Gymnasium.
The Nittany Lions held a 38-36 lead at halftime, but the Wildcats used a 10-0 run to start the second half to go ahead 46-38. The lead grew to as high as 13 points (58-45) before Berks was able to get back to three points down with 11:59 to play. The Nittany Lions trailed by just one point (76-75) with 3:21 left, but Wildcats were able to hold off a rally down the stretch.
Matt Seip led the Nittany Lions with 20 points after shooting 9-of-14 from the floor to go along with seven rebounds.
Dave Polisano added 15 points, while
Nelson Hine and
Robbie McHugh both had 11. Hine handed out a contest-high eight assists and McHugh pulled down a team-best eight boards.
Eric Stepnowski and
Tyheem Albright both chipped in nine points.
Ben Sosa had a contest-best 21 points and 10 boards. Robert Young Jr. added 17 points and Jesse White followed with 16.
The Nittany Lions will face Wilson College in a NEAC South Division contest on Wednesday, February 7 at 6 p.m.
