Women's basketball falls in consolation round to Delaware Valley

ALLENTOWN, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team dropped its consolation round game, 66-43, to Delaware Valley University at the Scotty Wood Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Hall.

The Nittany Lions trailed by just three points at the end of the first quarter, but a strong second half propelled the Aggies to a 10 point advantage at halftime. Berks closed out the third period on a 12-5 run to give both teams 14 points in the quarter. Trailing by 10 in the final period, the Aggies outscored Berks by a 22-9 margin to secure the victory.

Sam Brensinger led the Nittany Lions with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor, including 3-of-5 from long distance. Through three games this season, the junior guard has made seven 3-pointers and leads the offense with a 10.0 points per game scoring average. In addition, Brensinger recorded four rebounds, one assist, and one steal on Saturday afternoon.

Kaitlyn Armstrong chipped in 10 points and tied for the team lead with six rebounds. Elise Paskowski and Raven-Monet Kemper tied Armstrong with the six boards grabbed. Kylie Herman chipped in seven points and hauled in four rebounds.

Domanique Moser had 19 points and nine boards to lead the Aggies. Not far behind Moser was Emily Kutskel with 16 points and nine rebounds. Ashley Smink rounded out the players scoring in double figures with 15 points.

The Nittany Lions will host Drew University on Tuesday, November 20 at 6 p.m.
