MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team earned its fourth straight shutout victory with a 5-0 win over Morrisville State in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Drake Field.

The Nittany Lions improve to 9-3-1 overall and 8-0 in the NEAC, while the Mustangs fall to 5-7 on the season and 4-3 in conference play.

Shelby Baker notched the first goal of the contest with a header off of a corner kick by Monica Pinel at the 33:03 mark of the first half. Berks doubled its lead in the 40th minute when Alexis Schoener received a cross from Jess Mandeville and snuck a shot past the keeper and just inside the right post.

In the second half, Caitlin Golden handled all of the scoring with three goals for her sixth game of the season with three or more goals scored. Golden now has 24 goals on the season, which is the most in the nation. In addition, Golden now has 97 goals scored in her career.

Alexa Lopez, Karina Raykova, and Pinel each had an assist on Golden's three second half scores.

Bristol Pizzuto finished the contest with one save on the only Mustang shot that was put on target. Morrisville State goalkeeper Brianna Sorriento registered 13 saves in net.

Berks outshot the Mustangs by a 33-4 margin and held a 12-1 advantage on corner kicks.

The Nittany Lions return to action when they host Cazenovia College on Saturday, October 13 at 1 p.m. Berks will hold Senior Day honors prior to the start of that contest.
