Men's soccer upended by Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision on the road to Elizabethtown College in a non-conference contest on Wednesday evening at Ira R. Herr Field.

The Nittany Lions fall to 4-8-1 on the year, while E-Town improves to 4-4-3 overall.

The Blue Jays broke through with a pair of goals late in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission. Out of the break, Berks kept the home squad off the board before E-Town tacked on three more scores later in the half.

Carter Lam recorded his second goal of the season to break up the shutout in the 85th minute.

Trent Johnson and Gerardo Sosa combined for five saves in net for the Nittany Lions, while Andrew McGowan finished with two saves for the Blue Jays.

The Nittany Lions will host Cazenovia College in a NEAC contest on Saturday, October 13 at 3 p.m. Prior to the game, Berks will celebrate Sosa and Tom Ulrich with Senior Day honors.
