Women's volleyball falls to Moravian on Senior Day

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 setback to Moravian College in a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening at the Beaver Community Center.

Prior to the start of the home finale, the Nittany Lions recognized Megan Lackman with Senior Day honors. Lackman, who has been a four-year standout with the program, ranks among the all-time leaders in kills (533), attacks (1884), service aces (96), digs (752), points (654.0), sets played (356), and matches played (109).

Berks (8-20) earned a thrilling 25-23 victory in the first game, but the Greyhounds responded with a 25-19 win in the second to even the series. Moravian then grabbed a 25-15 win in the third and finished the match with a 25-18 triumph in the fourth.

Maddy Kessler and Jenna Plitnick tied for the team-lead with six kills apiece. Kessler also recorded four service aces, four block assists, and two solo blocks in a strong all around performance. Lackman and Abbie Carr followed with four kills each. Lackman had five digs and an ace, while Carr chipped in a solo block and a block assist. MacKenzie Reed handed out 21 assist to go along with eight digs, three kills, two aces, and two block assists. Madison Wojciechowski had a team-high 14 digs, followed by Ashley Morris with 12. Madison Hetrick added three kills, three digs, and one block assist, while Abbie Tuel had a kill and a block assist.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Gallaudet University for a NEAC contest on Friday, October 26 at 6 p.m.
