Gallaudet rallies past Nittany Lions

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball had a second half lead slip away in the second half in a 74-62 setback to Gallaudet University in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

After trailing 34-30 at halftime, the Nittany Lions came out of the break strong with a 10-1 run to build a five point lead with 16:30 to play. The teams went back and forth, with Berks holding a three point edge (52-49) with just under 10 minutes to play. From there, the Bison used a 16-2 run to grab a double digit lead and take control of the game.

Matt Seip led the Nittany Lions with 18 on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor to go along with seven rebounds. Robbie McHugh had a strong presence in the paint, finishing with 12 points after going 6-of-9 from the field. The freshman forward also added six boards and three assists. Dave Polisano rounded out the Nittany Lions scoring in double figures with 10 points, while also handing out four assists. Tyheem Albright tallied nine points and had two steals, while David DiMeo recorded a team-high eight rebounds.

Jawuan Jackson led all scorers with 21 points and added six steals and three assists. Andy Cruz notched a double-double with 19 points and 10 boards, while he also registered four steals, two blocks, and two assists.Preston Kelly chipped iun 16 points and a game-high eight steals.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Penn State Abington for NEAC action on Tuesday, January 23 at 6 p.m.
