Women's volleyball cruises to NEAC win over Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, PA - For the second time in three days, the Penn State Berks women's volleyball team earned a dominating 3-0 victory against North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) competition, the most recent coming on Thursday night against Bryn Athyn College.

The Nittany Lions (3-6, 2-0 NEAC) won by game scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-5. In the final set, Madison Wojciechowski began serving with the score tied at 2-2 and by the time she was done the Nittany Lions were ahead 19-3. During that stretch, Alexis Horst notched eight kills and Abbie Carr added two, while Wojciechowski recorded three consecutive service aces.

As a team, Berks had 35 kills and committed just 10 errors to finish the contest with a .284 hitting percentage. Horst led the attack with 16 kills and a .394 hitting percentage, followed by Carr with six kills and a .385 percentage. Amia Boone and Megan Lackman both notched four kills. Morgan Schwartz handed out 30 assists and her three service aces tied Wojciechowski for a contest best. Lackman led the defense with 14 digs and Wojciechowski followed with 13.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Elizabethtown College for a non-conference match on Saturday, September 16 at 12 p.m.
