Women's soccer shuts out Cobleskill on the road, 9-0

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team picked up a 9-0 victory over SUNY Cobleskill in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions improve to 6-4-1 on the season and 5-0 in the NEAC, while the Fighting Tigers fall to 0-11 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

Melissa Martin matched her season-high output with three goals, to raise her team leading total to 14. Megan Jardine chipped in one goal and two assists, while Caitlin Golden and Shelby Baker both added a goal and an assist. Charlotte Pizzuto, Karina Raykova, and Amanda McCormick all recorded one goal, while Sarah McMullen, Alexa Lopez, and Monica Pinel each had an assist.

Paige Elmy recorded the victory in net for the Nittany Lions. Elmy was aided by the strong play from the defensive unit of Baker, Mackenzie Fredricks, Raykova, and Jess Mandeville.

The Nittany Lions return to action with a non-conference contest at Albright College on Saturday, October 14 at 3 p.m.
