Women's basketball drops home tilt with Morrisville State

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team dropped a home decision, 97-54, to Morrisville State College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Beaver Community Center.

The Nittany Lions (3-8, 3-6 NEAC) could not keep pace in the first quarter as Morrisville State rushed out to a 36-17 advantage and eventually took a 58-28 lead into the halftime intermission.

Deanna Daddona and Sam Brensinger both knocked down four 3-pointers and finished the game in double figures. Daddona had a team-high 25 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists, while Brensinger had 12 points and a team-high six assists. Britt Weiss rounded out the Nittany Lions that scored double digits with 10 points. Sam Huggins had a team-high nine rebounds, followed by Weiss with seven and Mackenzie Huber with six.

Haley Kilmartin led the Mustangs with 28 points after connecting on four 3-pointers. Charlotte Walker chipped in 19 points, six boards, and six assists, while Kaitlyn Griffin made five 3's on her way to 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

The Nittany Lions return to action when they host Cazenovia College on Sunday, January 22 at 12 p.m.
