WILLIAMSPORT, PA - Baba Waples continued his torrid scoring pace and Dave Polisano poured in a career-high in points, but it was not enough as the Penn State Berks men's basketball team suffered an 84-82 heartbreak defeat to Penn College of Technology in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Thursday night at Bardo Gymnasium.

The Nittany Lions took a 45-37 lead into the halftime intermission and were ahead by as much as 12 points with 12:45 remaining in regulation. The Nittany Lions largest deficit of the game was down by eight (77-69) with 5:33 remaining, but Waples and Polisano combined to score 11 of Berks' next 13 points to stay in contention. With the score 84-82 and four seconds left in the game, Eli Adams attempted an off balanced 3-pointer as timed expired, but the would game-winner drilled off the back iron.

Waples followed up his historic 53-point effort against St. Elizabeth on Tuesday with a game-high 35 points. The senior guard went 14-of-30 from the floor, including three 3-pointers to raise his conference best scoring average to 24.3 points per game. Waples also recorded a team-best five assists and four steals.

The .889 shooting percentage from 3-point range ranked as the best clip in a single game with six or more 3's made in a game. In addition to the scoring binge, Polisano pulled down a career-best six rebounds to go along with two assists and a steal.

Nelson Hine chipped in seven points, six boards, and two assists, while Joel Ellison and Matt Thompson both added six points. Ellison grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, while Thompson recorded six.
