Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Mummau, Nittany Lions down LBC 2-0

READING, PA - Lizzie Mummau tallied a pair of goals and the Penn State Berks women's soccer team blanked Lancaster Bible College, 2-0, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) battle on Friday evening.

The Nittany Lions, who are now riding a four game winning streak and are unbeaten in their last eight contests, improve to 7-2-1 overall and 6-0 in the NEAC, while the Charger drop to 6-4 on the season and 5-1 in conference action. With the win, Berks moves into sole possession of first place with 18 points, while LBC holds down second place with 15 points.

Mummau recorded her third multi-score game of the year and raised her season total to eight scores. She broke the scoreless deadlock with a goal in the 59th minute when Brennan Moyer, as she has done all season, inserted a perfect pass off of a corner that Mummau headed past the keeper. A little over five minutes later Mummau struck again to give the Nittany Lions a comfortable two goal cushion. Shelby Baker played a long chip over the defense and the speedy Mummau tracked down and unleashed a shot into the back of the net.

The defensive unit of Moyer, Baker, Megan Jardine, Karina Raykova, and Alexa Lopez held the Charger offense to only one shot on the evening to secure another shutout victory for Paige Elmy in net. LBC keeper Kaitlyn Scheuing finished the day with seven stops.

The Nittany Lions return to action when they host Wilson College in a NEAC contest on Friday, October 7 at 5 p.m.
