Women's volleyball rallies for 3-2 win over Ursinus

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team recovered from a 2-0 deficit for a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Ursinus College in a non-conference contest on Thursday evening at Beaver Community Center.

The Nittany Lions dropped the first two games by scores of 25-21 and 25-17 to put the Bears on win away from clinching the match. But Berks dug deep with a 25-21 victory in the third game and outlasted Ursinus 25-23 to carry momentum going into the decisive fifth game. The final game did not disappoint as the Nittany Lions pulled off a 15-13 triumph to pick up the much deserved win.

Alexis Horst paced the offense with 11 kills to go along with 13 digs and two block assists. Megan Lackman followed with 10 kills, while also adding 10 digs and three block assists. Jen Maxwell had a season-high seven kills and 10 digs. Madison Wojciechowski picked up a career-high 30 digs during the five-set thriller, while Morgan Schwartz had seven kills without an errors on 13 to go along with 38 assists and three service aces.

The Nittany Lions will host NEAC play this weekend, beginning with SUNY Cobleskill (12 p.m.) and SUNY Polytechnic (4 p.m.) on Saturday, October 1.
