Women's soccer cruises to conference win over SUNY Cobleskill

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team picked up another shutout after defeating SUNY Cobleskill, 13-0, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions, who are unbeaten in their last six contests, improve to 5-2-1 overall and 5-0 in the NEAC, while the Fighting Tigers fall to 2-7 on the season and 0-6 in conference play.

Charlotte Pizzuto got the scoring started for the Nittany Lions after taking a cross by Kaylie Smucker and beating the keeper with shot into the top corner just 2:20 into the contest. Shelby Baker, Megan Jardine, and Monica Pinel all recorded their first goals of the season during the opening half. Nicole Brigante tallied a hat trick to raise her season total to seven. Dana Sarcinello had one goal, while Lizzie Mummau added two scores and an assist. Smucker registered a goal in the second half and finished the day with a game-high two assists. Caitlin Golden and Alexa Lopez also notched goals for the Nittany Lions. Brennan Moyer, Veronica Spatz, and Keri Klimko all recorded an assist.

Paige Elmy and Kaylee Frapaul combined on the shutout win in net.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Alvernia University for a non-conference contest on Wednesday, September 28 at 7 p.m.
