READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to SUNY Polytechnic in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions fall to 2-5 overall and 2-2 in the NEAC, while the Wildcats improve to 2-7 on the season and 2-4 in the conference.

The two teams went into the halftime intermission in a scoreless tie with both teams tallying three shots and the Nittany Lions holding an 8-0 advantage on corner kicks. Manny Zavala had the best opportunity in the opening half, but his line drive shot ripped off of the crossbar and sailed out of play.

In the second half, Berks received defensive stops on the end line from both Jakob Fischer and Kevin Mondi. The Wildcat offense kept pressuring and eventual got a breakaway goal from Tanner Wiley in the 64th minute. The Wildcats put the game away with a penalty kick conversion in the 89th minute.

Gerardo Sosa recorded three saves in goal for the Nittany Lions, while Mingoro Fanny had two stops for SUNY Poly.
