Women's tennis picks up second conference win

Box Score READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team earned its second win over the weekend after defeating the College of Saint Elizabeth, 9-0, in a chilly and windy Sunday afternoon at Hintz Athletic Field. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (2-7, 2-0 NEAC) received wins by forfeit at third doubles and sixth singles to start the match with a 2-0 lead. The doubles team of Kianna Anderson and Caroline Bashore grabbed an 8-0 win at the top spot, while the No. 2 duo of Tessa Caltagirone and Samantha Usavage were 8-1 winners.

In singles action, Anderson (No. 1), Tanya White (No. 3), Caltagirone (No. 4), and Usavage (No. 5) each won their matches by an 8-0 pro set score. Marje Robinson was an 8-1 winner out of the No. 2 singles flight.

Berks will continue its NEAC action with a road contest at Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m.
