Women's tennis picks up sixth straight win

Box Score READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis picked up its sixth straight victory after defeating Bryn Athyn College, 9-0, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Wednesday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions improve to 6-7 for the season and 6-0 in NEAC action, while Bryn Athyn falls to 1-7 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

The duo of Kianna Anderson and Caroline Bashore were 8-2 winners over Nicole Rogan and Sydney Elder in the top doubles bout. Tanya White and Marje Robinson snagged an 8-0 win out of the No. 2 spot, while Erin Ginther and Cassidy Schultz finished off the sweep with an 8-0 victory out of the third spot.

All six of the singles matches finished by scores of 6-0, 6-0.

The Nittany Lions will face Penn State Abington on Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m. with a fight for the regular season title on the line. Both teams enter the contest with perfect 5-0 records in the conference. Also on Saturday afternoon, the women's tennis squad will be teaming up with baseball, softball, and men's tennis for the annual Spring Pink Games to benefit the Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County.
