Women's tennis sweeps Lancaster Bible

Box Score LANCASTER, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team swept Lancaster Bible College, 9-0, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Wednesday afternoon at Linden Hall. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions improve to 3-7 for the season and 3-0 in the NEAC, while the Chargers move to 2-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Kianna Anderson and Tanya White paired up for an 8-3 victory over Morgan Adams and Stephanie Blest in the No. 1 doubles flight. Cassidy Schultz and Caroline Bashore were 8-3 winners at No. 2, while Erin Ginther and Tessa Caltagirone picked up an 8-0 win in the third spot.

White (No. 2), Bashore (No. 4), and Ginther (No. 5) each won in their singles bouts by set scores of 6-0, 6-0. Caltagirone won 6-1, 6-0 out of the sixth singles spot, while Schultz was a 6-2, 6-0 winner in the third flight. Anderson played in the tightest match of the day at No. 1 singles, where she defeated Adams by a 6-4, 6-2 score.

The Nittany Lions will travel to New York this weekend for a pair of NEAC contests. They will face Wells College on Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m. and travel to Keuka College for match on Sunday, April 17.
