Women's basketball drops home tilt with Brandywine

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team dropped its home tilt with Penn State Brandywine, 80-56, in a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening at the Beaver Community Center.

Berks fell in too big of a hole after the first period with Brandywine jumping out to a 29-8 advantage. In the next three quarters combined, Brandywine held just a 52-48 edge over Berks.

Deanna Daddona had a team high 13 points and added three assists. The freshmen made improvements from the opener last Tuesday, with Elise Paskowski chipping in 10 points and five rebounds, while Sam Huggins had a contest-high 10 boards and added seven points. Sam Brensinger recorded nine points, five assists, and three rebounds, while Britt Weiss had six points and five boards. Mackenzie Huber knocked down two 3-pointers and finished the contest with eight points to go along with five rebounds. Bre Schmidt turned in a solid performance in limited time with a jumper and an assist in the span of two minutes at the end of the first half.

Chrissy Gledhill led Brandywine with 17 points off of 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range. Madison D'Ambrosia added 13 ponts and Kendra Stanford followed with 10.

The Nittany Lions return to action with the NEAC opener at the College of Saint Elizabeth on Tuesday, November 29 at 6 p.m.
