Women's soccer extends win streak to six straight

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team grabbed another shutout victory after blanking Gallaudet University, 13-0, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions (9-2-1, 8-0 NEAC) extend their win streak to a season-high six games and remain unbeaten in the teams last 10 contests.

Nicole Brigante matched her season-high of three goals to lead the Nittany Lions offense, followed by Caitlin Golden with a pair of goals. Kaylie Smucker and Hannah Harkay both chipped in a goal and two assists. Brennan Moyer got the scoring started with a blast into the top right corner from 40 yards out. Alexa Lopez tacked on the second goal of the game with a drive over the keeper's head from about 25-yards out, followed by Golden with a chip over the keeper from 30-yards out for her first score of the game.

Paige Elmy and Kaylee Frapaul combined on the shutout for the Nittany Lions. The defensive unit of Moyer, Shelby Baker, Megan Jardine, and Karina Raykova did not allow the Bison any shots on the day.

The Nittany Lions will travel to New York for a pair of NEAC contests next weekend. They will begin with Keuka College on Saturday, October 15 a 1 p.m., followed by Wells College on Sunday, October 16 at 12 p.m.
