Women's soccer picks up road win over Keuka, 6-1

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team picked up a 6-1 win on the road over Keuka College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at the Jephson Complex.

The Nittany Lions improved to 10-2-1 overall and 9-0 in the NEAC, while Keuka drops to 7-6 on the season and 6-4 in the conference. Berks extended its winning streak to seven straight and remain unbeaten in the last 11 contests.

Caitlin Golden recorded a pair of goals in the first five minutes to put the Nittany Lions in control of the match. Brennan Moyer assisted on Golden's first score at the 3:14 mark of the opening period and Lizzie Mummau added the assist on Golden's score at the 4:58 mark. Kaylie Smucker put Berks ahead 3-0 after deflecting a cross by Moyer into the open net. Nicole Brigante finished off the scoring in the opening half with an unassisted goal into the upper right corner for her 12th score of the season.

Mummau opened up the scoring in the second half with a breakaway goal in the 54th minute, her 12th goal of the year. Dana Sarcinello capped of the scoring after successfully converting a penalty kick for her team-best 13 goal of the season.

Nicole Browe scored the lone goal for Keuka with a breakaway score in the 74th minute.

Paige Elmy made a save on the Wolves only shot on net while she was in goal, while Kaylee Frapaul finished the contest with two saves.

The Nittany Lions will continue their New York road trip with a contest at Wells College on Sunday, October 16 at 12 p.m.
