Women's volleyball drops regular season finale

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team fell in the regular season finale, 3-0, to Moravian College in a non-conference contest on Wednesday night at Beaver Community Center.

Moravian captured the victory by taking game scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-15. The Nittany Lions now sit at 20-10 overall, while the Greyhounds improve to 16-15 on the year.

Alexis Horst lead the Nittany Lions with eight kills, followed by Jen Maxwell with five. Megan DeAbreu added three kills, five digs, and a solo block. Morgan Schwartz, who handed out 17 assists, had a team-high nine digs. Madison Wojciechowski, Megan Lackman, and Horst all added seven digs. Laken Bankert recorded three service aces to raise her season total to 62, which ranks as the third most in a single season in program history.

Brooke Kusmider led the Greyhounds with 10 kills and Erin Tiger followed with nine. Victoria Kauffman recorded 26 assists and Jean Markovic had a contest-high 21 digs.

The Nittany Lions finished in fourth place in the conference standings and will face off against No. 5 seed Wells College on Friday, November 4 at SUNY Polytechnic. Check back later in the week on www.psuberksathletics.com for more information on the NEAC Tournament.
