Men's soccer drops heartbreaker to Keuka

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback to Keuka College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at the Jephson Complex.

The Nittany Lions drop to 6-8 overall and now sit at 6-3 in the NEAC, which puts them in fifth place in the conference standings, while Keuka improves to 8-2-3 on the season and 6-1-3 in the conference.

The lone score of the game came at the 85:27 mark of the contest when Paulin Kolodja put his corner kick directly into the net. For the game, the Wolves created more opportunities with a 12-2 count on corner kicks and a 12-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Gerardo Sosa turned in a solid effort for the Nittany Lions with a career-high eight saves. Senior Isaiah Danner kept the game within reach with a defensive save in the 87th minute to keep the score at 1-0 in Keuka's favor.

T.J. Yurkovic, Trent Moyer, Cole Mays, and Bryan Franco all put a shot on goal but Wolves keeper Willie Romero was there to make all the stops.

The Nittany Lions will continue conference play with a contest at Wells College on Sunday, October 16 at 2 p.m.
