Women's basketball falls to Mustangs

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team fell on the road, 87-65, to Morrisville State College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions led 21-20 after the first quarter, but Morrisville State was able to rally for a 41-30 lead going into the intermission. Berks outscored the Mustangs 21-19 in the third period to cut the deficit to nine points, but that is as close as they would get.

Deanna Daddona knocked down a career-high six 6 3-pointers to finish with a team-best 23 points. The freshman guard also pulled down seven rebounds, which tied Dakota Dawson for the team lead. Shanelle Koch added 22 points, four boards, and three steals, while Cassidy Schultz had 12 points and six assists.

Jordan Anderson led the Mustangs with 20 points and eight assists. Charlotte Walker chipped in 16 points and eight boards, while Caitlynn Adams had 11 points, 12 boards, and three blocked shots.

The Nittany Lions will open up a five-game home stand beginning on Saturday, January 23 against Keuka College at 3 p.m.
