Women's basketball falls to Wells

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team dropped its tilt with Wells College, 84-54, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Thursday evening at Beaver Community Center.

The Nittany Lions stayed even with Wells at 14-all after the first period, but the Express took a 13 point lead into the break. Berks was able to cut that deficit to eight points in the third quarter, but that is close as they would get before Wells pulled away.

Deanna Daddona continued her on her scoring spree, tallying 20 points to go along with her seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Daddona has recorded 20 or more points six times this year, including each of the last three to raise her scoring average to 18.5 points per game. Angie Russell had a career-high 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor, while also grabbing eight rebounds. Cassidy Schultz had nine points and three assists, while Mackenzie Huber had a team-high nine boards.

Kamarie Maturine led the Express with 18 points and 17 rebounds, while Holli Erkson added 18 points and six rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will host Keuka College in a NEAC contest on Friday, January 22 at 4 p.m.
