Women's tennis downed by Alvernia

Box Score READING, PA (September 23, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback to local foe Alvernia University in a non-conference contest on Wednesday afternoon at Gring's Mills Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions were able to salvage a point in the doubles matches, with the No. 2 duo of Caroline Bashore and Marje Robinson picking up an 8-5 win. Kianna Anderson and Lexi Vidal dropped an 8-4 decision in the top doubles bout.

Robinson continued on her winning ways with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 6 singles. She has now improved to 4-0 on the season. Erin Ginther picked up the Nittany Lions other win with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at fifth singles.

The Nittany Lions will finish off the fall portion of their schedule with a non-conference contest at Rosemont College on Saturday, October 3 at 12 p.m.
