Nittany Lions play to draw with Dickinson

CARLISLE, PA (September 13, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team played in its third double overtime contest of the young season and for the second time this year played to a scoreless draw, most recently tying Dickinson College, 0-0, on Sunday afternoon at Miller Field.

The Nittany Lions, who remained unbeaten, move to 2-0-2 on the season, while the Red Devils shift to 3-1-1. Berks had a 12-1 advantage on shots on goal, but Dickinson held a 4-2 edge on corner kicks. The Nittany Lions had a couple of good scoring opportunities in the second half, capped off by Dana Sarcinello's shot the slammed off the crossbar in the 80th minute.

Neither team generated any offense in the first overtime period. In the second extra frame, Caitlin Golden had a shot blocked away by a defender, while Paige Clawser and Sarcinello each had a shot saved by the keeper. Paige Elmy, who made a save in the first half on the only ball that made its way on target, recorded her second shutout of the season.

The Nittany Lions return to action on Wednesday, September 16 in their NEAC opener at Wilson College beginning at 4 p.m.
