Women's soccer plays to draw with Diplomats

READING, PA (September 1, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with Franklin & Marshall College in the season opener on Tuesday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions outshot F&M by a 19-7 margin (7-1 on shot on goal), but were unable to breakthrough for the gamewinner.

Dana Sarcinello dribbled through traffic and took a shot from about 20 yards out, but the keeper was able to make the save. Sarcinello had another scoring opportunity in the first overtime, but the ball sailed wide of the goal. Lizzie Mummau, Brennan Moyer, and Caitlin Golden all saw their shots on goal saved by the Diplomats keeper.

Paige Elmy made one save and finished with a shutout in her collegiate debut.

The Nittany Lions will return to action when they host Albright College on Saturday, September 5 at 7 p.m.
