WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 2, 2015) - The Penn State Berks baseball team picked up road wins of 15-0 and 10-2 over Gallaudet University in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) doubleheader at Hoy Field.

The Nittany Lions improved to 18-15-1 overall and 9-5 in the NEAC, while extending their season-long win streak to eight games.

In the opener, Keeanu Erb went 2-for-3 with a triple, four runs batted in, and two runs scored, while Cory Fox had a double, a triple, three RBI, and a run scored. Tom Grablewski added two hits and drove in three runs and Luke Erb added two hits and two runs scored. Nick Zipay drew three walks to go along with hits two RBI and three runs scored.

Steve Koenig turned in his finest performance of the season, going 6.0 innings allowing one hit and no runs. The senior right-hander tossed 1-2-3 frames in five of his six innings pitched to improve to 5-1 on the season. The only batters to reach base were a single and hit batter in the fourth inning, but those two runners were left stranded. Andrew Hertzog allowed two hits and struck out two batters in one inning of relief, while Mitch Renninger and Dom Continenza each tossed a perfect inning.

In the second game, Kyle Hartman launched a two-run towering home run to right field in the top of the third for the ninth of his career, which makes him the all-time leader in program-history. Grablewski went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while Luke Erb  added two hits and an RBI.

Zach Reis scattered five hits and allowed two runs in 5.0 innings of work to earn the win. Sean Pavlik tossed a perfect inning of relief, while John Bonino allowed one hit in an inning of work.

The Nittany Lions will travel to SUNY Polytechnic next weekend for the 2015 NEAC Baseball Championship. Please check back later on the website for more information about the postseason tournament.
