Nittany Lions swept by Wilkes

KINGSTON, PA (April 9, 2015) - The Penn State Berks baseball team suffered a pair of setbacks, 5-1 and 9-1, in a non-conference doubleheader with Wilkes University on Thursday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions trailed 2-0 late in the opening game, but the Colonels cracked it open with a three-run homer in the bottom of fifth inning. Berks scored a run in the top of the second of the second game for a 1-0 lead, before Wilkes recorded nine unanswered runs the rest of the way.

Tom Grablewski was 2-for-3 with a double and a runs scored in the first game, while Cory Fox added a hit. In the second game, Max Edgin went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run, while Nick Zipay went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Luke Erb recorded two hits.

The Nittany Lions will host Penn College of Technology in a NEAC doubleheader on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m.
