Women's tennis runs win streak to four straight

Box Score READING, PA (April 15, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team continued its strong play in conference action with an 8-1 victory over Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions ran their winning streak up to four matches to improve to 5-9 overall and 4-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC).

The No. 1 doubles team of Nandita Munindra and Lexi Vidal fell behind 3-2 in the early going, but the duo bounced back for an 8-4 victory. Megan Antosy and Erin Ginther grabbed an 8-1 win at second doubles, while the third team of Liz Kurtz and Cassidy Schultz won 8-0 to give the Nittany Lions a comfortable 3-0 lead going into singles action.

Ginther was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 6 singles, while Kurtz (No. 3) and Schultz (No. 5) each won by a score of 6-1, 6-0. Antosy won her No. 2 singles bout 6-0, 6-1, and Marje Robinson rounded out the singles winners with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the fourth slot.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Penn College for a NEAC contest on Saturday, April 18 at 10 a.m.
