Women's tennis downs Wells

Box Score READING, PA (April 11, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team defeated Wells College, 7-2, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts.

The Nittany Lions, playing a match on their home court for the first time this spring, improved to 1-1 in NEAC play. They wasted no time building a comfortable lead by sweeping the in doubles action. Nandita Munindra and Lexi Vidal earned an 8-1 victory as the top doubles duo. Megan Antosy and Erin Ginther (No. 2) and Liz Kurtz and Cassidy Schultz (No. 3) both won their doubles matches by an 8-0 margin.

Antosy was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 2 singles, while Marje Robinson won 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot. Schultz picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at fifth singles, while Ginther rounded out the Berks winners with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the sixth flight.

The Nittany Lions will host Keuka College in a NEAC contest on Sunday, April 12 at 10 a.m. The men's and women's tennis team, as well as the baseball team will be sponsoring Pink Game fundraisers on Sunday, with all benefits going to the Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County.
