Women's basketball picks up road win

COBLESKILL, N.Y. (February 15, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team overcame a halftime deficit to pick up a 60-56 victory over SUNY Cobleskill in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest at Iorio Gymnasium.

There were 11 lead changes and four ties in the first half which saw the Fighting Tigers take a 29-22 lead into the break. Cassidy Schultz tallied the first five points of the second half and a layup by Shanelle Koch evened the game at 29-all with 17:06 left in the half. Cobleskill led by one with 5:51 to play before both teams went scoreless over the next four minutes. The Nittany Lions used an 8-3 run over the final two minutes to seal the win.

Koch earned her 12th double-double of the season with a team-high 25 points and 10 rebounds. She raised her conference leading average to 20.8 points per game, while her 10.0 rebounds per game ranks sixth in the NEAC.

Schultz chipped in 19 points, six boards, and a game-high five assists. Jaslyn Silva added seven points and seven boards, while Nicole Maslowski had five points and five rebounds. Heather Gray recorded a career-high eight rebounds.

Shelby Preston led the Fighting Tigers with 18 points and 22 rebounds, followed by Cassie Beaver with 10 points.

The Nittany Lions will travel to the College of Saint Elizabeth for a NEAC contest on Wednesday, February 18 at 7 p.m.
