Men's basketball edged by Gallaudet

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 1, 2015) - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team came up short in a 72-66 setback to Gallaudet University in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions trailed by one point at halftime and took a 32-31 lead on a layup by Michael Aldridge for the opening basket off the second half. That was the last lead for Berks and their deficit got to 11 points with 5:34 left in regulation. The Nittany Lions then went on a 14-5 run to pull within two points with just under two minutes left, but cold shooting down the stretch halted the comeback bid.

Aldridge recorded his second double-double of his career with a personal-best 17 points and 14 rebounds. He recorded 10 of his 14 rebounds on the offensive end of the floor. Christian Burggraf had 20 points, marking the seventh time in the last eight games that he had 20 or more points, and pulled down six boards. Dameon Nixon added 10 points, while Nelson Hine chipped in nine points and six rebounds.

Raymond Nelson led the Bison with 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the floor. Trey Gordon had 17 points and nine boards, while Joshua McGriff tallied 11 points and 10 boards.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Bryn Athyn College for a NEAC contest on Wednesday, February 4 at 8 p.m.
