Women's soccer continues on its winning ways

MANHEIM, PA (October 3, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team opened up its scoring in the second half to earn a 6-2 win over Lancaster Bible College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions (9-1-2, 7-0 NEAC) held a 1-0 lead going into the halftime intermission and then outscored the Chargers (4-5, 3-1 NEAC), 5-2, in the second half.

Lizzie Mummau netted her 10th goal of the season to put Berks ahead 1-0 at the 13:50 mark of the first half. Caitlin Golden tallied the next two goals and finished the game with three scores and an assist to raise her team-leading point total to 37 this season. Kaylie Smucker and Chrissy Smith added the other goals for the Nittany Lions.

Paige Elmy finished the game with five saves, which is her highest total in conference play.

Berks outshot LBC by a 30-10 margin and held an 8-4 advantage on corner kicks.

The Nittany Lions return to action with a road contest at Gallaudet University on Sunday, October 11 at 2 p.m.
