Men's soccer falls in double overtime

MANHEIM, PA (October 3, 2015) - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team was nipped in double overtime when Lancaster Bible College converted a penalty kick to earn a 3-2 win in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions (4-6-1, 2-4 NEAC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the first 46 minutes of the game, but the Chargers battled back with three unanswered goals.

T.J. Yurkovic notched his fourth goal of the season when he netted the first goal of the game at the 29:15 mark of the opening half. Jon Mercier later tallied a goal early in the second half when the LBC had a breakdown on its defensive side to give Berks a 2-0 lead.

The Chargers (5-2-3, 2-2-1 NEAC) scored in the 56th and and 64th minute to even the contest at 2-all. They received the winning tally off of a penalty kick by Edward Bills in the 107th minute to pick up the victory.

Rotman Saltos finished the contest with three saves, while his counterpart Josue Bosque had nine saves.

The Nittany Lions will return to action on Sunday, October 11 with a NEAC contest at Gallaudet University at 12 p.m.
