Women's basketball falls at home to St. Elizabeth

READING, PA (January 8, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team returned to action after a 27-day layoff with an 85-57 setback to the College of Saint Elizabeth in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Thursday evening at Beaver Community Center.

The Nittany Lions knocked down a season-high eight 3-pointers, led by Nicole Maslowski with five made. Maslowski recorded the first double-double of her career with her personal-highs of 16 points and 11 rebounds. In addition, Maslowski established a career high in assists (4), blocked shots (2), minutes (38), and matched her best in steals (2).

Shanelle Koch also knotted a double-double after recording 21 points - 19 coming in the second half - and a contest-high 14 rebounds. Koch reached 20+ points for the fourth time this season to raise her average to 20.6 per game and upped her rebound average to 11.0 per game. Cassidy Schultz was 2-for-3 from 3-point range to finish with 13 points. She also added four assists and four rebounds.

Jaslyn Silva chipped in five points, three assists, and a steal, while Heather Gray added two points and a season-high five rebounds. Carine Dorlus added two rebounds and an assist.

The Eagles were led by Alexandria Garcia with 22 points, followed by Sarolin Sanders with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will host Bryn Athyn College on Saturday, January 10 at 1 p.m.
