Strong second half pushes Penn Tech past Berks

WILLIAMSPORT, PA (January 28, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team fell to the Pennsylvania College of Technology, 82-73, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Wednesday evening.

The Nittany Lions held a 10-point lead at halftime, but the Wildcats committed only three turnover while shooting 52.5% from the floor in the second half.

Shanelle Koch continued her impressive offensive play, going 14-of-16 at the foul line en route to a 30 point performance. The 14 made free throws is tied for the third most in a single game in program history. Koch grabbed 12 rebounds to earn her ninth double-double of the season. In addition, the junior forward tallied three steals, four assists, and blocked a shot.

Cassidy Schultz chipped in 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor to raise her season scoring average to 10.2 points per game. Nicole Maslowski added 10 points, while Jaslyn Silva had eight points and four assists.

Alicia Ross led the Wildcats with 23 points and nine assists, followed by Jamie Steer with 21 points and seven boards.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Wilson College for a NEAC contest on Saturday, January 31 at 1 p.m.
