Men's basketball topped by Wells

AURORA, N.Y. (January 25, 2015) - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team fell on the road, 68-60, to Wells College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions trailed 31-27 at halftime and by as much as 12 points with 9:13 left in the game. However, a little run allowed Berks to cut its to three points with a little under two minutes to play. The Express pulled away down the stretch by going 2-of-2 from the field and 5-for-7 at the foul line in the final 1:54 of the game.

Christian Burggraf led the Nittany Lions in scoring with 18 points and also chipped in three rebounds and two steals. Dameon Nixon had 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Baba Waples followed with 16 points and two boards.

Berks held the Express starting lineup to just 24 points, but the Wells had three players come off the bench to combine for 44 points. Shakeel Simmons had a game-high 19 points, followed by Erich Kaempffe (14) and Jordan Jean (11).

The Nittany Lions will travel to the Pennsylvania College of Technology for a NEAC contest on Wednesday, January 28 at 8 p.m.
