Men's soccer fall 3-2 to Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, PA (September 27, 2014) - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team suffered a 3-2 setback to Bryn Athyn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions fell behind 1-0 in the 8th minute, but Wes Fox recorded his first goal of the season in the 11th minute to even the match at 1-all. The contest headed into the halftime intermission deadlocked at 1-1, with Berks holding a 13-9 advantage in shots and 4-0 margin in corner kicks.

In the second half, Bryn Athyn jumped ahead 3-1 at the 72:48 mark. T.J. Yurkovic then pulled the Nittany Lions to a 3-2 deficit with his fifth goal of the season in the 76th minute.

Stephen Speer recorded a season-high nine saves for the Nittany Lions, while Bryn Athyn keeper Ryan Weinkopff tallied eight stops.

The Nittany Lions will host Delaware Valley College on Wednesday, October 1 at 3:30 p.m.
