Nittany Lions down Rosemont in home opener

Box Score READING, PA (September 26, 2014) - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team earned its first win of the season after defeating Rosemont College in a non-conference contest on Friday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (1-2) took a 2-1 lead in doubles action. The No. 3 duo of Marje Robinson and Ivana Davis cruised to an 8-1 win, while the No. 2 pair of Florence Kurtz and Erin Ginther had a comeback 8-5 victory.

In singles, Nandita Munindra (No. 1) picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win over Asha Anderson. Megan Antosy needed a 7-3 tiebreaker to get a 7-6 win in the first set. She followed that up with a 6-0 score to clinch the win. Kurtz and Ginther each won by set scores of 6-2, 6-1 in fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Davis finished off her perfect day with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.

The Nittany Lions will wrap up their fall portion of the schedule with a non-conference contest at Albright College on Wednesday, October 1 at 3 p.m.
