Men's soccer falls to Immaculata

READING, PA (September 20, 2014) - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback to Immaculata University in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions trailed 1-0 at half and that lead was extended with a Mighty Mac goal just 48 seconds into the second half. Berks had several scoring opportunities in the second half, but goalkeeper Joe Lubonski denied each shot.

Joe Budnovitch had a shot on goal, but was stopped on a diving save by Lubosnki. The rebound went back to Budnovitch, who redirected the shot to the other corner of the cage, but again it was batted away by a diving Lubonski. He finished the contest with seven saves, while Stephen Speer tallied six for the Nittany Lions.

Immaculata outshot the Nittany Lions by a 21-12 margin and held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The Nittany Lions will return to action when they travel to Bryn Athyn College for a NEAC contest on Saturday, September 27 at 2 p.m.
