Men's soccer blanked by Moravian

BETHLEHEM, PA (September 17, 2014) - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team fought hard all day, but a pair of late goals put the contest out of reach in a 4-0 loss to Moravian College in a non-conference contest on Wednesday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions trailed 1-0 at the halftime intermission and were down 2-0 for most of the second half. But the Greyhounds scored goals in the 85th minute and the 89th minute to pad to its lead.

Berks managed seven shots on goal, all in the second half, but Moravian goalkeeper Brian Boland was able to make the stop on all of them. Kyle Baker recorded seven saves for the Nittany Lions. The sophomore keeper played strongly and two of the goals came on rebounds the he had deflected on previous shots.

Moravian outshot Berks by a 25-15 margin and held a 3-1 advantage on corner kicks.

The Nittany Lions will host Immaculata University in a non-conference contest on Saturday, September 20 at 3 p.m.
