Men's soccer drops season opener to Albright

READING, PA (August 29, 2014) - The Penn State Berks men's soccer season opened up its 2014 campaign with a 6-0 setback to crosstown foe Albright College on Friday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions (0-1) had a few scoring oppurtunites come up short. In the 43rd minute, Hayden Rowe sent a perfect corner kick that Nick Baughman headed just barely over the crossbar. Rowe had a shot on target early in the second half, but the keeper was able to make the save.

In net, Stephen Speer and Kyle Baker each recorded a save.

Albright received two goals each from Vitali Zaluha and Andrew Sussingham, while keeper Austin Aldinger made four saves to record the shutout.

The Nittany Lions will return to action when they host Stevenson University on Tuesday, September 2 at 7 p.m.
