Koch sets single-game school record against Wells



READING, PA (February 14, 2014) - Shanelle Koch set a number of single-game school records, but it was not enough as the Penn State Berks women's basketball team suffered a 78-71 setback to Wells College in Friday night's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest.

The Nittany Lions led by eight points early in the opening half, but the Express battled back and the game was knotted at 43-all going into the break. The teams exchanged leads numerous times and were tied eight times in the second half before Wells pulled away in the final minutes.

Koch set the single-games school record with 38 points scored, suprassing Courtney Bailey's total of 35 against the College of Saint Elizabeth on February 16, 2010. She also set the program record for most field goals made in a game with 16 and her .762 shooting percentage was the seventh best all-time. The sophomore guard shot 11-of-14 from the floor in the first half and already established a personal-high with 25 points. Koch pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds to pick up her seventh double-double of the season. She also tallied five steals and matched a career-best with five blocked shots.

Khadijah Robinson also recorded a double-double with her 12 points and 11 boards, to go along with her three blocked shots. Keisha Robinson added 12 points, five rebounds, and four steals.

The Express received 28 points, 15 rebounds, five steals, and three blocked shots by Ashley Roser. Theresa Hernandez addied 11 points, while Kaitlynne Knapp chipped in 10.

The Nittany Lions will host Wilson College in the regular season home finale on Wednesday, February 19 at 7 p.m.
