Women's basketball downed by Abington

ABINGTON, PA (December 6, 2014) - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team was downed by Penn State Abington, 86-44, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

Shanelle Koch recorded a double-double for the second straight game and third time this season after recording 18 points and 10 rebounds. The junior guard is averaging 18.2 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Koch played all 40 minutes for the fourth time this season.

Tenee Pina added 11 points, three assists, and two rebounds. Jaslyn Silva knocked down two 3-pointers to finish with six points and Joslyn Hill recorded a team-high three steals.

Abington shot 48.3% from 3-point range and converted on 10-of-13 attempts at the free throw line. Janaiah Elum and Stephanie Keyes, who combined to shoot 11-for-20 from beyond on the arc, accounted for 47 points. Elum had a contest-high 25 points, while Keyes chipped in 22 points, six rebounds, three assists, and a blocked shot. Breanna Lineman had a team-high 10 boards and added eight points.

Berks will return to action when they host Penn Tech in a NEAC contest on Friday, December 12 at 5 p.m.
