Women's basketball drops conference opener

LANCASTER, PA (December 3, 2014) - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team fell to Lancaster Bible College, 95-64, in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opener on Wednesday evening at Horst Athletic Complex.

The Nittany Lions trailed 53-24 at halftime, but were only outscored 42-40 in the second half with an improved shooting effort. Berks shot 50.0% (15-30) and were 42.9% (3-7) from three point range in the second half.

Shanelle Koch recorded her second double-double of the season after pouring in a season-high 22 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. The junior guard, who played all 40 minutes, is averaging 18.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.

Khadijah Robinson had a season-high 17 points, 11 of which came in the second half. She also had four rebounds, three assists, and blocked two shots. Tenee Pina chipped in eight points and four steals, while Cassidy Schultz hit two 3's and finished with six points.

The Chargers were powered by Katy Stover's single-game school record 43 points, while also handing out six assists. She shot 66.7% from the floor, including an 8-of-14 performance from beyond the arc and 7-for-10 from the free throw line. Aubrey Folger added 20 points and Kirsten Webster had 13. Shanice Smith had a contest-high 17 rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Penn State Abington for a NEAC contest on Saturday, December 6 at 1 p.m.
