Volleyball picks up 3-1 win over Albright

READING, PA (October 6, 2014) - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team grabbed a 3-1 win over local foe Albright College in a non-conference contest on Monday evening.

The Nittany Lions (12-6) picked up its third straight win and won for the eighth time in the last nine matches. They won by set scores of 28-26, 25-22, 22-25, 25-11 to down the Lions (7-13) for the fifth straight time.

Sophia Zhang set a personal-best and finished one off the school record with 25 kills. The sophomore outside hitter finished the contest with a .340 kill percentage and four digs. Cassidy Schultz followed with 10 kills, while Heleanna Davison and Jenny Von Holt each notched seven kills.

Megan DeAbreu led the team with 25 digs, while Jordan Heath tied a school record with a personal-best 51 assists. Heath and Davison tied for the team lead with three block assists.

The Nittany Lions will return to action on Thursday, October 9 at 7 p.m. against Marywood University. The women's squad will be sponsoring a Pink Game fundraiser which will benefit the Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County.
