Women's soccer runs win streak to 10

WILLIAMSPORT, PA (October 4, 2014) - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team downed Penn College of Technology, 8-0, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions (10-1, 7-0 NEAC) improved their win streak to 10 matches and has picked up their seventh shutout of the season. Berks has currently outscored its opposition by a 72-7 margin.

Berks had six different players score goals, led by freshman Chrissy Smith with three. Dana Sarcinello scored the opening goal of the match and also matched a game-high with two assists. Jen Kessler tallied one goal and one assist, while Allison Wilson and Kelly Medence each netted one goal. Lizzie Mummau dished out two assists, which matched her single-game high.

Savannah Cramer and Zoe Fletcher combined on a shutout, with Fletcher recording both of the Nittany Lions saves.

The Nittany Lions will return to action with a non-conference contest against Moravian College on Wednesday, October 8 at 7 p.m. The women's squad will be sponsoring a Pink Game fundraiser which will benefit the Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County.
