Women's soccer halted by Scranton

SCRANTON, PA (October 22, 2014) - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team saw its 14 game win streak come to an end after falling, 2-0, to the University of Scranton in a non-conference contest on Wednesday evening.

The Nittany Lions trailed 1-0 at halftime, but were able to get their offense go off early in the second half. Unfortunately, they could not break through for a goal and the Royals (7-6-2) pushed ahead a 2-0 lead with a goal in the 84th minute.

In the second half, Lizzie Mummau managed two shots on goal, while Dana Sarcinello and Brennan Moyer each recorded one. But goalkeeper Krissy Welch had four saves for the Royals to record the shutout. Savannah Cramer finished off the contest with eight saves for the Nittany Lions.

Berks will conclude the regular season with a weekend trip to New York this weekend, starting with a 4 p.m. contest against Keuka College on Friday, October 24.
