Women's volleyball downs SUNY Cobleskill, 3-0



READING, PA (October 19, 2014) - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team defeated SUNY Cobleskill, 3-0, to finish off a perfect weekend in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play on Sunday afternoon in Beaver Community Center.

The Nittany Lions (17-8, 10-2 NEAC) won their fourth straight match by a 3-0 score after downing Cobleskill by scores of 25-14, 25-22, 25-11. Berks has clinched a spot in the NEAC playoffs, but their seeding hinges on the outcome of a match by Keuka College and Wells College during the upcoming week.

Sophia Zhang had a contest-high 15 kills, followed by Jenny Von Holt and Heleanna Davison with seven. Maria Pavone added six kills and two solo blocks, while Davison also had two solo blocks. Megan DeAbreu notched 16 digs and Jordan Heath recorded 36 assists and 11 digs.

The Nittany Lions will host the University of Scranton on Wednesday, October 21 at 7 p.m. in Beaver Community Center.
